FREDERICKSBURG BENEFIT FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

In the tragic aftermath of the 7.8 earthquake in Nepal that took the lives of more than 8,000 people and injured tens of thousands—and a subsequent 7.3 quake at the cusp of the Monsoon storm season–the music, arts and business community of Fredericksburg have joined together to contribute to a Rise Nepal! Benefit Concert and Silent Auction at the Old Silk Mill. All proceeds from the benefit will directly support on-the-ground relief and rebuilding efforts led by youth volunteers in Nepal.
The Rise Nepal! Benefit Concert and Silent Auction will be held on Sunday, June 14, from 4:00- 7:00 pm at the Old Silk Mill, 1707 Princess Anne Street, Fredericksburg. Suggested donations are $10 individual $5 students, $50 Friend, $100 Sponsor, $500 Patron. Entertainment will be provided by Cabin Creek, Save the Arcadian, and Pete Mealy and Laurie Rose Griffith as well as Performers featuring the Nepali culture, including the”Bob Dylan of Kathmandu,” Prem Raja Mahat.
A spectrum of local artists and businesses have donated items for the Silent Auction.
