Slavery and Slave Places in Fredericksburg

This program is part of the park’s summer History at Sunset series. All History at Sunset programs begin at 7 p.m. on Friday nights. All will last about 90 minutes. Familiar places, forgotten stories. Becky Oakes & John Hennessy will lead a program that looks at some of the sites in Fredericksburg that speak of the town’s long history of slavery, with an emphasis on those who struggled through bondage to a new life beyond.
