Call for Artists
Applications due September 26
Friends of Chatham (FoC) has received a Local Government Challenge Grant from Stafford County to hold a Plein Air Day at Chatham Manor and will contribute $100 for materials to 25, 2-Dimensional artists (media to include paintings, drawings, and photographs) who agree to participate in the event.
Participating artists will be required to create a work of art in their selected medium that relates in some way to Chatham Manor, its grounds, gardens, or view on the grounds of Chatham Manor from 10 am to 2 pm on October 17, 2015. Setup will be at 9 am and breakdown will be by 3 pm on the 17th.
In return, the participating artists will be required to donate one (1) finished work of art with the subject matter related to Chatham Manor, its grounds, gardens, or views to FoC no later than January 1, 2016. The donated work of art will be auctioned during the Friends of Chatham Garden Party on May 1, 2016 at Federal Hill, a ticketed fundraising event.*
All proceeds raised from the donated art will go directly to supporting the preservation of Chatham Manor, its ancillary buildings, ground, and gardens.
* Selected donated works of art may also be hung for viewing in Federal Hill on Garden Day on April 26, 2016.

Please attach 3 digital images of your work to the email entry.
FoC will notify you if you have been selected to participate in this event, no later than, September 15. At which time, you will be required to submit a signed contract committing to attending the October 17 event and to donate a finished work of art to FoC, no later than January 1, 2016.
